White ink heat transfer has white edges when printed? How to solve it?

DTF Printing, a new type of printing process, a new type of printing process, is recognized by the industry for its clear and realistic pattern transfer effects. From pattern printing, powdering, shaking to final drying, a dtf printer can easily achieve effects comparable to photos.

But since it is a precision instrument, small problems will inevitably occur. For example, white edges appear in the dtf printing finished products, which affects the appearance. What is the reason for this? How to solve it? Let's delve into it together.

Printhead reason

I believe everyone has already understood the importance of printing printhead for dtf machines. Therefore, if the printhead is not adjusted properly, contains impurities, or is cleaned for a long time, etc., it will cause problems such as flying ink or ink blocking, and white edges will appear on the screen. Therefore, regular maintenance and cleaning of the printhead should be done daily.

In addition, the height of the printhead should also be adjusted to the appropriate height.

If the printhead is too close to the printing film, it will easily damage the meticulous nozzle in the printhead; if the printhead is too far away from the printing film, the ink droplets will be easily affected by external factors during the ejection process, resulting in inaccurate placement and white edges. The distance between the printhead and the dtf film should be approximately 1.5-2mm.

Static electricity reason

The weather in winter is drier and equipment is more likely to generate static electricity.

The direct to film printer is a wide printing device that relies on a computer to control image output. Its core components are various mainboards, and the internal electric circuit spacing is short. It is easy for static electricity to cause abnormal movement of the film, wrinkles, etc., affecting the printing effect. If the static electricity is too high, ink fly out and ink breakage may occur. Therefore, special precautions should be taken to prevent the generation of static electricity.

Since the attraction of static electricity to objects will produce a force, if the DTF printer encounters static electricity when performing a printing task, the dtf ink will disperse due to static electricity, resulting in loose ink or white edges in the printed product.

How to solve the problem of static electricity?

1. Control indoor temperature and humidity. Generally speaking, the printing environment should be kept within the relative humidity range of 50%-75% and within 15℃-30℃, which will not affect the ink droplets on the direct to fabric printer nozzle and ensure printing accuracy.

2. Ground cable to dtf printer.

3. Before each printing, wipe the printing film with alcohol and manually remove static electricity.

Pattern reason

Sometimes, the appearance of white edges in dtf printing is not an equipment problem with the dtf printer.

We have also encountered this case: the pattern provided by the customer has white edges, but because it is hidden deeper, it is not easy to find. When this happens, the first thing to do is to modify the pattern and use PS drawing software to remove the white edges.

The above are the reasons and solutions for white edges appearing in dtf printer. If you find such problems during the printing process, you can self-examine and solve them according to the above methods, or contact our technicians to help troubleshoot!
